Competition Brief - BLUE MARLIN SPARK 
 
Insects are a staple in the diets of countries all over the world. They are readily available and much kinder to the environment than other sources of food, but how can we make this cuisine more appealing in Britain?
Take the world of insect cuisine and sell it through design and experience. This involves creating a brand identity and name, as well as method(s) of exposure. This could be through a restaurant, a pop- up shop, a pack design, a food festival, a recipe book, an app or all of the above.
 
I decided to go with idea of insect tea. Tea that unique blend of traditional chinese medicine tea and entomophagy. It is because the Chinese been using insects as medicine for a long history so I want to combine it with tea. This unique healthy blend is not only good for you but supports the incorporation if insects into our diet to tackle upcoming issues concerning world hunger.
 
Aims
In the UK it is unlikely that you can not find a flavor you like because there are many international cuisine scattered around and plenty of options to choose. However, entomophagy culture is not popular in the UK yet. Hence my aim is to influence British people to accept the culture of eating insects and gradually educate them.
 
Audience
My target audience is the general public in Britain. The personality will be tricky and playful. In the beginning of promoting the brand, we may offer a few days free tasting on street to attract consumers’ attention.
